We’re excited to introduce a pre-release of our Axzez Interceptor OS Installer, now with full Raspberry Pi CM5 support! We’ve rebuilt the OS from the ground up, incorporating the latest software packages, bug fixes, and highly requested features. Our build system has also been streamlined for easier maintenance and faster development.
What’s Inside?
Latest Kernel – Based on the Raspberry Pi OS Linux kernel
Debian Bookworm – The foundation of the OS
PoE Device Support – Drivers included
Unified Image – One OS install image for both CM4 & CM5
Installation Notes
For CM4 – Install via eMMC (RPi I/O Board), USB, or SD Card (for Interceptor v2.0 boards).
For CM5 – Install via RPi I/O Board or SD Card (USB boot isn’t supported due to the CM5’s dedicated USB2 setup).
When using SD Card - you must have a Raspberry Pi Lite CM!

Pre-Release Status – Currently under testing, with only minor issues currently being worked on.
What’s Next?
If no issues are reported with the OS pre-release, we will release it officially in about a week. Feel free to report issues in this thread or by emailing support [at] axzez [dot] com.
More builds are on the way, including OMV, OpenWRT, and updated BananaPi CM4 support. Stay tuned! UPDATE: We do not plan to release dedicated images for OMV or OpenWRT due to lack of demand. For OMV, there are simple instructions below in the comments for installing OMV in the Server image.
