How to change default boot order?

I am slowly getting my interceptor set up here. I just installed the OS on a SSD and it seems to work well if I select "Boot sda1" from the menu. I am going to set this up as a headless system, so I would like to make this the default optoion. How do I change this?

So, you have a different OS (not our OS) installed on the SSD and you want our boot menu to pick it by default? I just want to make sure I understand you properly.

Ok, I think I managed to fix things. I tried to re-install with "Create boot/recovery partitions on eMMC?" "Yes", but that just ended up giving me choices for mmcblk0p3 (default) and sda1. I ended up formatting both the old sda1 and mmcblk0p3 file systems and installing to sda1 from the recovery boot screen.

You should have been able to choose "mmcblk0p3" at that prompt, which is your eMMC (as I'm sure you know), and this would boot from eMMC for bootloader and sda1 for OS. Due to limitations of the CM4, we must always initially boot from USB or eMMC and then we can continue boot for the OS from our choice of sd* or eMMC. Anyway, I'm glad you got it figured out and are up and running.

Actually, that is not what happens on my board. If I have entries for both mmcblik0p3 and sda1, then choosing mmcblk0p3 will mount mmcblk0p3 as the rootfs.
