Moved my interceptor board into my NAS Case with 4 HDD Bays.
When I booted, the Network would not work (all show "NO-CARRIER", and physical LEDs do not light up, neither on the interceptor board, nor on the network switch).
Found the following in the kernel log:
[ 13.529743] rtl8367b rtl8367rb: cannot find mdio node phandle
[ 13.529803] rtl8367b rtl8367rb: using GPIO pins 44 (SDA) and 45 (SCK)
[ 13.529945] rtl8367b rtl8367rb: ACK timeout
[ 13.530094] rtl8367b rtl8367rb: ACK timeout
[ 13.530124] rtl8367b rtl8367rb: unable to read chip number register
[ 13.530137] rtl8367b rtl8367rb: chip detection failed, err=-110
[ 13.530184] rtl8367b: probe of rtl8367rb failed with error -110
This looks like a software error to me, but could it be due to a non-compatible PSU?
I would really like to keep the case, and the PSU is integrated with it.
More Infos:
Linux Debian 11 (from your install)
Linux buddha 5.10.63-v8 #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Apr 15 23:51:12 UTC 2022 aarch64 GNU/Linux
things I did that should not have an impact though:
sudo systemctl disable greetd.service # disable greeter as it's a headless system anyways...
sudo systemctl disable systemd-resolved # to free port 53 listening
Thanks a lot in advance!
update: see below, board broke after a week of use on 5 HDD's
Thanks for your response!
Modified a ATX24 Pin Extension Cable to incorporate a simple DC-DC Step Down Module set to 3.3V and works until now ;-)
Much better than trying to find a replacement PSU.
Would be a good Acessoire for the board, just sayin' ;-)
Yes, to us too it looks like a PSU issue. Please try one from our list https://www.axzez.com/forum/interceptor-carrier-board/frequently-asked-questions#viewer-ev650. Keep us posted on how things go, @T.
